Chronic Illness Support Groups Ontario
Offering both therapy and support groups facilitated by Stacey McDonald, RP (Qualifying).
Support groups are facilitated by a therapist, sometimes with structured topics of discussion but with more of an open space for discussion and support from others with shared experience.
Therapy groups are more structured groups that run for a set number of weeks. Therapy groups often have a set schedule with topics for each week where participants will gain deeper knowledge, learn coping skills, participate in reflection and processing activities and gain insight and support from the group.
Stacey’s approach to group therapy combines peer support and therapeutic goals and learning. This may look like semi-structured sessions that focus on a topic, provide skills, and leave space for processing while also highlighting the importance of spending time building community and connecting with others in similar situations to you.
Stacey’s main group offerings are chronic illness support groups Ontario. Stacey offers group therapy focused on adults 18+ living with chronic illness and chronic pain conditions.
