LGBTQIA Affirming Therapy
The LGBTQIA+ community face unique challenges, discrimination, and systemic issues that require safe, affirmative, and experienced care. Going to therapy is vulnerable, and that vulnerability can feel even greater if you’re questioning your gender or sexuality, are processing experiences of hate and discrimination, or have previous negative experiences in the healthcare space, as so many LGBTQIA+ people do.
Good Thanks Therapy prides itself on being a queer-owned, inclusive, and affirmative space for the LGBTQIA+ community. We are dedicated to using evidence-based practices, and continued learning to ensure we’re providing the best care possible to our queer community and allies.
Stacey takes an authentic, down-to-earth and relational approach to therapy in hopes that seeing your therapist show up as an authentic human will help you feel more comfortable doing the same. Humour is paramount to our work, and we believe strongly in the healing power of a good laugh (something our LGBTQIA+ community knows well!).
Whether you want to explore your gender or sexual identity, process experiences of discrimination, share your queer joy, need help navigating new relationships, or “coming out.” Therapy can be a space where you can safely explore your queer identity, try on new labels/pronouns/names, and also get into the deeper emotions and experiences you may have faced as someone in the LGBTQIA+ community. You don’t have to navigate this alone.
